The St. John’s Maple Leafs were up 5-1 in recent Newfoundland Major Midget Hockey League action when things suddenly turned bad against the St. John’s Privateers.

With just 8-minutes left to play in the third period, the Privateers looked like they were down and out until Zac Tucker scored to pull the Privateers within three goals.  The Privateers Luke Peddle was called for interference, putting his team down a man, but the Privateers battled back, scoring just as the penalty expired as Peter Kavanagh put his team within two goals.

Kavanagh scored again after the Privateers pulled their goaltender, making it 5-4 heading down the stretch.

Leafs goalie Dylan Burry stopped 46 of 50 shots, including some scramble saves as the Leafs hang on for the win.
