Mueller off to Special Olympics

Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador is excited to announce the departure of athlete Jeremy Mueller and team doctors, Dr. Carmel Casey and Dr. Neil Cheeseman to the Special Olympics World Winter Games. The 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games are being held in Pyeong Chang, South Korea from January 29th – February 5th.

Special Olympics Team Canada is a 141-person team comprised of individuals from 87 different communities across our country. Athletes will be competing in 8 Olympics-type sports including Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Boarding, Snow Shoeing, Short Track Speed Skating, Figure Skating, and Floor Hockey and a Floor Ball demonstration.

Jeremy is one of 3,300 athletes competing at these games and he is looking forward to racing across the snow on his snowshoes! Jeremy was all smiles at the airport this morning where several family, friends and teammates came out to wish him luck!!
