Marble Mountain Closes Amid Freezing Temperatures

January 2nd was a strange day at Marble Mountain as freezing temperatures gripped the Western Newfoundland ski slope, forcing it to close all but the lower slopes. Marble mountain reported a temperature of -47 celsius and when coupled with extremely high winds, the decision was made by the hill management to close the Governor’s Express and Black Mariah ski lifts as a precaution.

Skiers could avail of the lower slopes via the Newfie Bullet and Magic Carpet lifts starting at 11:00 am.
