IceCaps Stop Their Losing Skid

The St. John’s IceCaps stopped their losing streak by winning a pair of games this weekend.

On Saturday night, the St. John’s team defeated the Springfield Falcons by a score of 3-2.

Ivan Telegin scored the winning goal in overtime after taking a pass from Ben Chiarot and fired a shot past the Springfield goalie, snapping the IceCaps five game losing streak.

St. John’s goalie Eddie Pasquale stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced, picking up his seventh win on the season.

On Sunday night, Mark Dekanich picked up a shut-out victory, stopping all 40 shots he faced as the St. John’s team defeated the Providence Bruins by a score of 4-0.

Paul Postma picked up two points with a goal and an assist, while Aaron Gagnon picked up his first goal of the season and eventual game winner just 45 seconds into the first period.

The IceCaps will resume play on Wednesday night when they face-off against the Adirondack Phantoms.
