Eagles Sit on Top in AESHL

The North East Eagles picked up its tenth win of the season, as they thumped Bell Island by a score of 8-3 in the Avalon East Hockey League.

Both teams traded goals in the first period but the Eagles skated to a 5-3 lead heading into the dressing room after two periods.  The Third saw the Eagles increase their lead for their eventual win.

Mike Gambin and Mike Halitzki both scored twice for the Eagles.  Teammates Daniel Planke, Sean Roberts, James Cadigan and Justin LeBlanc chipped in singles for the win.

Andrew Coates, Daniel Roberts and Andrew Mackey replied for the Bell Island team.

The Eagles now sit in first place in the AESHL.
