Defending Women’s provincial curling Champ Stacie Devereaux hoped for a better start to the 2014 bid to defend her title. It wasn’t meant to be as the rink skipped by Shelley Nichols took the opening game 9-5 during the first draw. As a true champion, Devereaux took full responsibility for the loss indicating that her teammates held up their end of the game but she fell as skip.

In other action, the team skipped by Heather Strong defeated the team skipped by Beth Hamilton with a final score of 10-2.

The rink skipped by Stephanie Guzzwell had a bye in the opening draw.
