Cataracts Remain Unbeaten

The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts extended their perfect game streak defeating the Clarenville Caribous by a score of 6-3 in Newfoundland and Labrador (NLSHL) hockey action.

The Cats took a 3-2 lead into the first period intermission even after being outshot by the Clarenville team 12-8.  The Caribous tied it up in the second period when Street scored making it 3-3 with a power play marker after Hoffe took a slashing penalty.

The Cataracts regained the lead when Gallant scored to make it 4-3 at the end of the second period.  The Cats iced the game when Gallant scored again in the third period, making the score 5-3.  Later in the third, the Cats Quinn scored, making the score 6-3.

The play of the Cataracts new import Blake Gallagher had a four point night, scoring a goal and adding three helpers to the Cataracts win.

The Clarenville Caribous outplayed the Cataracts but were unable to come away with the victory.  Clarenville starter Devon O’Brien allowed six goals on just 20 shots.

Play resumes tomorrow at 1:30 pm as the Cataracts hope to preserve their unbeaten streak.
